What Really Matters
This post is a little off of the usual topic for me, so I apologize that it is not about art, although it is about an artist. I had a visit with a close friend today who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer and is now facing a fight for her life. ...
Guest Artist Lineup
The search for guest artists for the upcoming season at Two Horse Gallery is coming together. The gallery will be opening the first weekend in May and we are very excited to let you know that along with new pieces that our home artists have been working on over the...
Muskoka Art Scene
Those whose job it is to promote Muskoka love to claim it has a huge art community. After visiting the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Spring Members Art Show last night, I can see what they mean. The talent of those who live and create here is simply amazing. I was...
Call For Artists
Well… here we are almost halfway through March. As much as I detest winter, I really don’t worry about it anymore because time is going by so quickly that I seem to turn around twice and it is over. In yet another of example of the wisdom of my parents, my mother told...
Advertising – A Blessing or a Curse?
Advertising is a double edged sword – a classic “can’t live with it, can’t live without it” scenario. (Almost as bad as insurance, but do not get me started on that!) As if by magic, people have been appearing out of the woodwork, all claiming to be the right choice...
Adieu 2012
Looking back over the last 12 months, a couple of things stand out. First of all, we were really busy, but in a good way. All of the effort and stress that went into trying to keep a garden and property looking nice for a September wedding during one of the driest and...
Getting It Done
Well, we did it. The opening of Two Horse Gallery took place over the weekend. Many thanks to all of our friends and family who were able to join us, despite some not so great weather. I don’t think that too many people were aware that as of dinner time the evening...
Dreams
Okay – although I really don’t have time for this, I just had to share. Last night, during one of the times I was actually sleeping, I had a dream about opening day. It was fantastic! We were really busy, people were loving the place and having a great time. The only...
Two Weeks & Counting
We are getting so close to opening day that my knees are shaking. The sign went up on the highway this weekend, so I must get this website launched. Our contractor was supposed to show up today to put down the floor, but alas, no sign of him and no phone call. Muskoka...
The Barn
Is there any such thing as a renovation job that doesn’t take twice as long and cost twice as much as at first thought? Very rare I’m thinking. It sounded so simple to tear the barn boards off the structure, dismantle the stalls, add a floor, insulate, put it all back...
