As much as this past winter was difficult and seemed to never end, it never takes long for us all to start complaining about the heat and the bugs. Fortunately the Gallery is bug-free (for the most part) and thanks to the wonders of air conditioning, not uncomfortably hot. We have a few new additions to the Gallery for the 2014 season.
Ellen Jewett has sent us three new pieces, which are simply amazing. One of them is this beautiful dragon, who looks like he could take flight at any moment…
We also have an incredibly graceful phoenix in flight and one we call the Fanciful Fox, who is frankly impossible to describe and must be seen to be appreciated.
Julie Bowen has been hard at work over the winter and has provided us with four new water colour paintings. One of my favourites is titled “Thistledown” and portrays two goldfinches.
We have two new guest artists in the gallery this year. Richard (Rick) Biggs is a wood turner who creates beautiful wooden bowls, vases, candlesticks and more.
Also new this year is Brian Ashby who began his career as an artist in glass blowing, but more recently has turned his hand to painting.
