Born in Germany, Antje completed an apprenticeship in a salt-glaze pottery, followed by studies in Art and Design, first in Germany and later in Canada. After graduation she worked as a potter’s assistant for 10 years before opening her own studio in 2000. Antje’s pottery is inspired by nature, which is reflected by her rich glazes and creative designs. Besides functional, durable stoneware pottery, she loves creating one-of-a kind sculptural vases, bowls and birdbaths. Antje’s work can be seen at galleries in Muskoka, Midland, Penetanguishene, Algonquin, Sudbury and Manitoulin Island, or at her home and studio in Lafontaine, Georgian Bay, where she works as a full-time artist.
